Born in 1953 in Lingen/Ems. Studied at the dffb in Berlin. Works as Director of Photography, screenwriter, director, producer, composer, editor and actor. He has written more than 200 TV scripts for daily soaps as well as crime and youth series. His first feature film as writer/director, "Zischke" (1986), was awarded the Art Prize of the Berlin Academy of the Arts and the award of the Max-Ophüls-Festival. "Beautiful Bitch" received the Volkswagen Script Award 2006 at the Filmfest Emden-Aurich-Norderney.
