Biography

Arne Feldhusen was born in Rendsburg in 1971. During the 1990s, he garnered professional experiences workings as an editor and assistant director for commercials and feature film productions, including Sönke Wortmann's "Der Campus" ("Campus", 1998) and "St. Pauli Nacht" (1999). He made his directorial debut with the 1999 documentary "Strassenkinder in Deutschland". After helming several episodes of the TV comedy show "Ladykracher" (2002), he directed the made-for-TV film "Beach Boys – Rette sich wer kann".

Feldhausen continued to work for several TV shows, most notably "Stromberg" with Christoph Maria Herbst in the title role, for which he directed all episodes between 2004 and 2012. He also helmed episodes of "Zwei Engel für Armor" (2006), "Mord mit Aussicht" (2008) and "Der kleine Mann" (2009). From 2011 on, he served as director for all episodes of the series "Der Tatortreiniger", which he also created and for which he – along with writer Mizzi Meyer and lead actor Bjarne Mädel – won the Grimme Award in 2012 and 2013. Feldhausen next directed a feature film based on "Stromberg", which was theatrically released in 2014. The film won the Audience Award at the Bayerischer Filmpreis.

Subsequently, Feldhusen directed the TV production "Vorsicht vor Leuten" (2015), a mixture of a social satire and a conman comedy. The film was awarded the German Comedy Prize as Best TV comedy. Feldhusen's next film, the road movie "Magical Mystery", premiered at the Munich International Film Festival in 2017 and had its theatrical release the same year. The film was awarded the Ernst-Lubitsch-Prize and also achieved notable box office success.

In 2018, Feldhusen directed the seventh and final season of the cult series "Der Tatortreiniger". That same year, he also directed the series "Deutschland 86". Following this, he helmed several episodes of the first two seasons of the coming-of-age comedy series "How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast)". For the third season (2021) of the award-winning series, he directed all episodes. He also directed the streaming film "Buba" (2022), which serves as a prequel to the series.

With "Stromberg – Der neue Film" (release scheduled for December 4, 2025), Feldhusen revisits his early series success, following up on "Stromberg – Der Film" (2014). Christoph Maria Herbst and Bjarne Mädel once again take on the lead roles.

In addition to his work in film and television, Feldhausen also shoots music videos and commercials and has been a lecturer at the Hamburg Media School since 2006.
