House of the Sleeping Beauties

Vadim Glowna`s adaptation of Yasunari Kawabata`s novel of the same name tells the story of the ageing Edmond who feels guilty for the fatal accident of his wife and his daughter. His friend Kogi advises him to visit the "The House of the sleeping Beauties" to finally find some peace of mind.

At the house, "Madame", the patron of the house, narcotises young girls in order that elderly men find some rest at the side of the naked and innocent beauties. Edmond agrees to this game to finally forget about his past. But at the house, Edmond is confronted with his own traumas, the temptation of the young women and the mysterious and inscrutable "Madame". These experiences finally lead to his rather painful salvation.
