Finally, school's out for summer: The five friends Julian, Dick, Anne, George and Timmy, the dog, are looking forward to their first trip without parental supervision. Although the idea of going camping doesn't excite Anne that much, she won't let her friends down and goes along. Shortly after they set up camp, the kids get involved in a new case. Criminal Rookey plans to kidnap the son of the wealthy owner of the camping site in order to get hold of  a precious jewel. Unfortunate for Rookey, his hapless accomplices Max and Fil accidentally kidnap Dick instead. As expected, Julian, Anne, George and Timmy are determined to free their friend and to bring the gangsters to justice.
