Biography

Flora Li Thiemann was born in 2002. Following first bit parts in TV productions, she played memorable supporting roles in Doris Dörrie's "Glück" ("Bliss") and the melodrama "Frühlingskinder" (2013).

After her first leading role in the award-winning children's film "Sputnik" ("Mission: Sputnik"), Flora Li Thiemann appeared in a string of made-for-TV movies, including the comedy "Frauenherzen" (2014), the fairy tale adaptation "Die Schneekönigin" (2014) and the tragicomedy "Der verlorene Bruder" (2015). In 2016, she starred in the theatrical release "Nellys Abenteuer" ("Nelly's Adventure"), in which a 13-year-old girl's family vacation in Romania takes an unexpected turn. Her performance won her the award for Best Female Actor in the children's film competition at the Minsk Film Festival. Moreover, "Nellys Abenteuer" took home a special jury award for Best Ensemble at the Children's Film Festival Seattle.

Thiemann next starred in the coming-of-age drama "Tigermilch", which premiered at the 2017 Munich Film Festival: She plays a Berlin middle school student who strolls with her best friend (Emily Kusche) through her home district, where both become witnesses to a dramatic incident. The same year, Thiemann joined the international cast of the post-war drama "Aftermath" (DE/US).

In the highly acclaimed TV drama "Totgeschwiegen" (2019), which explores youth violence against unhoused people, she was part of the main ensemble as one of the perpetrators. She went on to appear in several television productions, with mostly smaller roles in crime series such as "Herr und Frau Bulle", "SOKO Leipzig", and "Der Zürich-Krimi", as well as in the fairy tale adaptation "Zitterinchen" (2022) and the comedy "Lehrer kann jeder!" (2022). In 2023, she had a recurring supporting role in the six-part fantasy series "Der Greif" (The Gryphon").

Flora Li Thiemann took on another leading role in the drama "Gotteskinder" ("In Good Faith"), playing the teenage daughter of a strict Evangelical family who falls in love with a neighbor boy. The film won the Youth Jury Prize at the Max Ophüls Prize Film Festival in 2024 and was released in German cinemas in January 2025.
