Tanja Schwerdorf, born in Cologne in 1979, gained practical film experience in her early 20s as a lighting technician and assistant production manager, for example on the TV movie "Geld macht sexy" (2002). In 2004, she began studying visual communication/media at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts, where Wim Wenders one of her teachers. During her studies she realized several short films. Since 2013, she has been a member of the team of Klappe auf! Short Film Festival Hamburg as an artist. Her 14-minute short film "Nach dem Regen" (2013-2015) was also broadcast on TV after it had toured through cinemas across Germany.
In 2011/12 she had met producer and director Klaus Maeck through their collaboration on the feature film "Fraktus" - in 2019 she co-directed a long documentary with him: "Alles ist Eins. Ausser der 0." about Wau Holland, who founded the Chaos Computer Club in Germany in 1981. After the premiere at the Film Festival Cologne in the fall of 2020, the film was released in theaters in the summer of 2021.
