Biography

Milan Herms began his acting career in the theater. At the Berlin Volksbühne, Frank Castorf cast him in 2016 alongside Sophie Rois and Alexander Scheer in a small role of " Die Kabale der Scheinheiligen. Das Leben des Herrn de Molière." Mainly, however, Herms took part in productions at the Volksbühne's P14 Youth Theater, among them " Sabotage Camouflage – Wir glauben Ihnen kein Wort!" In 2017 and two years later "Benvolio + Mercutio als unglückliche Liebende", in which he appeared in a title role alongside Ben Engelgeer.  Also in 2019, Herms took on a part in a staged reading of "Bambi & die Themen" at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele and was part of the premiere ensemble of "Die Alleinseglerin segelt allein!" at Ballhaus Ost.   

Milan Herms made his film debut with a supporting role in the award-winning short film "Drübenland" ("The Land Over Here", 2019), about a seven-year-old who, left to his own devices, is confronted with the fall of the Wall in 1989. In the competition of the 2022 Berlinale, Herms was seen in his first leading role on the big screen: in Nicolette Krebitz' "A E I O U - Das schnelle Alphabet der Liebe" ("A E I O U - A Quick Alphabet of Love", DE/FR 2022), he played the a 17-year-old outsider and thief who develops a special relationship with a 60-year-old woman.
