Biography

Franziska Meyer Price was born in Munich in 1962. After graduating from school, she worked in several departments on numerous film productions and studied film in Rome and New York, where she eventually got her diploma at the renowned Tisch School Of The Arts. From 1997 on, she worked as a director for television productions in Germany, Italy and Switzerland, including shows like "Das Amt" (1998-2001) and "Die Camper" (1999). The made-for-TV movie "Natalie - Babystrich Ostblock" marked her first feature-length work as a director and was followed by the TV comedy "Nur Anfänger heiraten".

Price continued to direct episodes for the award-winning shows "Berlin, Berlin", "Doctor's Diary" and "Christine. Perfekt war gestern!", and also helmed prolific TV movies like the comedy "Ich bin ein Berliner" (2005), "Küss mich, Genosse!" (2007) and "Baby frei Haus" (2009). The espionage comedy "Undercover Love" (2010, TV) garnered her a nomination for the German Television Award while her film "Stankowskis Millionen" (2011, TV) was named Best Television Comedy at the German Comedy Award.

In 2014, Franziska Meyer Price presented her first theatrical release with the screen adaptation of the play "Männerhort", in which three men build themselves a retreat from married life in the boiler room of their apartment house.

After that Price again realised a number of TV productions, including the tragicomedy "Die Insassen" (2015) based on the novel of the same name by Katharina Münk with Wolfgang Stumph and Maximilian Brückner in the leading roles and the relationship drama "Wenn es Liebe ist" with Jutta Speidel and Harald Krassnitzer, in which a woman unexpectedly falls in love with another man after 38 happy years of marriage.  In the comedy "Der Nesthocker" (2018) a man has to fight off the hostility of the son of his new girlfriend.

In 2019 the shooting for Price's next feature film began: "Berlin, Berlin" is based on the successful TV series of the same name from the early 2000s and follows the turbulent entanglements that arise when Lolle's ex-boyfriend Sven appears at Lolle's and Hart's wedding celebrations and tropes the wedding ceremony with a declaration of love to Lolle.
