The Dove on the Roof
Linda Hinrichs, a young and unmarried construction supervisor from Mecklenburg, asks herself a lot of questions about love. She wonders, for example, if romantic ideas can really come true. At a construction site she meets two very different men. Hans Böwe is momentarily busy with building modern tower blocks in the south of the GDR. Although he travels a lot, he still has not found his place in life. He proposes to Linda. Linda, however, hesitates to accept him, whereupon Hans gets drunk. Furthermore, Linda meets the student Daniel and is fascinated by his spontaneity and idealism. For example, he uses the opportunity of a dancing party to raise money for Vietnam. When he is accused of spending the money on himself, he does not hesitate to get rough. Both men touch a lot of questions that Linda asks about her own life.
