Laia Costa was born in Barcelona on February 18 1985. She began to study marketing and media studies in her hometown, and later took acting lessons at the drama school Nancy Tuñón. In 2011, she made her TV debut playing a recurring character on the popular TV show "Bandolera". She continued to work in Spanish television, including several episodes of the successful medical drama series "Polseres vermelles", and appeared in the Russian feature film "Fort Ross" (2014).
Laia Costa got her first leading role in a feature film playing the title character in Sebastian Schipper's "Victoria", which premiered at the 2015 Berlin IFF and revolves around a young Spanish tourist who meets four sympathetic boys on a night out in Berlin and winds up being driver of a getaway car.
