The siblings Tommy and Annika who are living in a small Swedish town are amazed when they meet their new neighbour: Pippi Longstocking is a red-haired girl with funny braids that moves into the house next door with her big horse and with her little monkey. Although the adults frown upon the fact that Pippi is living all on her own, the children soon become friends – and "Villa Villakulla" as Pippi calls her new home soon becomes a place where Annika and Tommy experience a lot of bizarre adventures.
