Leni
Leni tells the true story of a child that was only allowed to reach her fifth birthday. Still as an infant, the little girl is taken into foster care by an old couple on a farm. But it soon turns out that there is something not quite right with the child - "descent-wise". Her mother is Jewish.
Leni must leave. She comes to Munich - to an orphanage, it is said. The old farmer sets off with the village teacher to try and save the child. "If it is true that the Heimatfilm is the highest form of expression of the German longings for suppression, then there is no more disturbing setting for a Holocaust story than our home" Leo Hiemer.
