Born in Regensburg, Germany in 1970, she studied communication science in Munich and then film at New York University. She has worked for Bavarian television, the German broadcasters ARD, 3SAT and ZDF, and Pars Media, and also produced the cinematic portrait "A Woman and a Half: Hildegard Knef". This film screened at the 2002 Berlinale and was nominated for the German Film Award.
