Beate Meitner is trapped in a loveless relationship with Axel. Because of various neuroses and other psychological problems, she is under treatment by various doctors and talks about the relationship with her violent ex-husband and her parents. She loses herself more and more in masochistic sex fantasies to free herself from her unfulfilled everyday life.
