Flüchtlinge
A propagandistic adventure film: In 1928, a group of German refugees led by wanted engineer Laudy escapes the Soviet Union and reaches the embattled Chinese town of Charbin. Due to the diplomatic crisis, their request to be allowed to continue their journey to the sea is turned down by the international authorities, and also cynical German mercenary Areth initially refuses to help them. But when Laudy suffers a mental breakdown in the face of a seemingly hopeless situation, Areth takes over the command with the help of Laudy′s sister Kristja and organizes the group′s risky getaway in freight train.
