Die schöne Lurette
Paris, late 17th century: The laundress Lurette is in love with the carpenter Campistrel who is unable to show his feelings. In order to finally make him confess his love for her, Lurette has decided to make him jealous during the carnival festivities. Campistrel, however, is way too busy with working on the large carnival figures. Lurette meets the Duke of Marly who uses his false charm to trick her into marriage. In reality, he wants to have a short affair with her before making her the king′s mistress. Lurette is unable to see through this intrigue and needs to be rescued by her brave colleague Marcelline. In the end, Campistrel and Lurette happily fall in each other′s arms during the merry carnival hubbub.
