Documentary about the residents of a unique retirement home. The Romanian region of Transylvania used to be the home to many German settlers. While many of their descendants fled during the time of the Ceausescu regime, some stayed – with thirty of them now living in a retirement home with an unusual concept: Each resident participates in the daily work routines and contributes to the communal life. Thus the residents tend to their own farmland and livestock, and even though some work might take longer than it used to, they all share the feeling of being active and productive.
