Biography

Shinji Imaoka was born in 1965 and took Screenwriting courses at the Asahi Culture Center while attending the Yokohama City University. He belongs to a new generation of "pink film" directors known as the "Seven Lucky Gods". His films include: "Waiting for the Comet" (1995), "Nipples" (1996), "Demeking" (1998), "Despite All That" (1999), "Grasp" (2000), "Another Man" (2001), "Lunch Box" (2004), "Frog Song" (2005), "Uncle"s Paradise" (2006), "The Tender Throbbing Twilight" (2007), and "Underwater Love" (2011).
