Biography

Sebastian Dehnhardt was born in Oshakati, Namibia in 1968. From 1992 on, the son of a German doctor and actress Marina von Ditmar worked as a freelancing author and soon also director for several TV stations. He became known for numerous historical features, including "Hitlers Helfer: Hess - der Stellvertreter" (1996), "Die Vertriebenen - Hitlers letzte Opfer" (2001), the Emmy Award-winning "Das Drama von Dresden" (2005), and the documentary "Das Wunder von Bern - Die wahre Geschichte" (2004), for which he won a German Television Award.

Apart from political and historical topics, Dehnhardt made features about European royalty, including " Die Königskinder" (2007-2009) and "Königliche Affären" (2011). He authored several books, and from 2002 on was managing director of the "Broadview TV GmbH" production company. In 2011, he presented his first cinema release with the feature-length documentary "Klitschko", a portrait of the eponymous boxing champions.
