Nyamandi Adrian was born in Berlin in 1991. From 2001 to 2004 he played the leading role of young Simba in Disney's "The Lion King" at Hamburg's Hafentheater. He received the award for Best Child Actor from the (now defunct) website Musicalkritik.de.
Adrian made his debut in front of the camera in 2010 in the short documentary "Moabit Ost", which was followed by a guest lead role as a football talent in an episode of the TV series "Der Landarzt" (2012). From 2013 to 2016 he studied acting at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt. During this time, he was seen at Schauspiel Frankfurt in the role of Simon in a stage production of Vivienne Franzmann's "The Witness" (2014-2015).
After graduating in 2016, Adrian received an engagement at the Theater Heimathafen in Berlin-Neukölln, where he played the lead role in "Peng Peng Boateng" until 2020. His performance earned him the Ikarus Theatre Prize. At the same time, he had a lead role in the play "Stress" at Berlin's Theater Hebbel am Ufer (2017-2018).
On TV, Nyamandi Adrian appeared in leading roles in Florian Gärtner's comedy "Unsere Jungs - Auch Strippen will gelernt sein" (2018), as a member of a stripper troupe, and in Dirk Kummer's tragicomedy "Herren" (2019), as a member of a Berlin urinal cleaning team whose newest employee turns out to be a proud capoeira master. He was also seen in episodes of the series "Löwenzahn" (2020) and "Alarm für Cobra 11" (2020).
Nyamandi Adrian made his debut on the big screen in the German-American co-production "Deine Farbe" ("Your Color"), alongside Jannik Schümann. The road movie tells the story of two young men from different social milieus who escape the German province and travel to Barcelona. "Deine Farbe" premiered at the Hof Film Festival and screened at numerous international festivals. At the Calella Film Festival (Spain), Adrian and Schürmann received the award for Best Actor respectively. At the quarterly Queen Palm International Film Festival in Palm Springs (USA), Adrian was awarded Best Actor in January 2021.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, "Deine Farbe" was not released theatrically in Germany but as video-on-demand in February 2021.
