Biography

Mario Barth, born November 1, 1972, in Berlin, attended a Catholic private school. After his graduation, he started an apprenticeship as a telecommunication electronic technician. Barth subsequently attended drama school, went to "Köln Comedy Schule", among others, and made his first TV and stage experience with short performances in TV shows like "Quatsch Comedy Club" (RTL).

In 2001, Barth toured Germany with his program "Männer sind Schweine, Frauen aber auch!" that became a huge success. At the end of 2005, the program won the German comedy award. Three years later, Barth’s second solo program, "Männer sind primitiv, aber glücklich!", premiered. In 2006, the program also won the German comedy award.

Besides his stage projects and the accompanying, enormously successful CDs and DVDs of his live shows, Barth time and again appeared in guest performances in TV comedy shows like "Schillerstraße" (Sat1). Furthermore, Barth has been the star of several of his own TV formats like the humorous quiz show "Keine Ahnung?" (2003 to 2005, Pro7), the docu-soap comedy "Mario sucht das Paradies" (2006, RTL), and the entertainment show "Mario Barth präsentiert" (since 2007, RTL).

In 2009, Barth made his debut as a comedian on the movie screen with the comedy "Männersache", directed by Gernot Roll.
