Juli Grabenhenrich, born in 2008 in Berlin, landed her first film role at the age of 15—without formal acting training or prior experience. Director Alissa Jung cast her in the lead role of her feature debut "Paternal Leave – Drei Tage Meer" ("Paternal Leave") playing a 15-year-old girl who meets her father for the first time on the wintry coast of northern Italy, only to find that he is overwhelmed by the situation.
The film premiered in the Generation 14plus competition at the 2025 Berlinale, where it received the AG Kino–Gilde Award, followed by additional festival honors. At the Malaysia International Film Festival, Grabenhenrich was named Best Actress. "Paternal Leave – Drei Tage Meer" was released in German cinemas in November 2025.
