Ivo Pietzcker was born in Berlin in 2002. At the age of eleven, he auditioned for the film "Jack" without having any previous acting experience and was eventually cast in the lead role. Following the film's premiere in the competition of the 2014 Berlin IFF, Pietzcker's performance as a boy who searches for his mother in the Berlin nightlife was unanimously praised by critics. He was nominated for Best Actor at the "Preis der deutschen Filmkritik". Pietzicker next got cast in another demanding role in Kai Wessel's "Nebel im August" (DE/AT 2016): He played 14-year-old Ernst Lossa, who fell victim to the Nazis' murderous euthanasia program.
