Biography

Hanna Doose was born in Cologne in 1979. After attending the European Film College in Denmark, she enrolled at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie (dffb) in Berlin in 2001 and successfully graduated in 2012. During her time at the academy, she also took classes at the Ernst Busch acting school and the "dramatiska institutet" in Stockholm. Moreover, she worked in television, completed several shorts and directed a segment of the documentary project "24 h Berlin – Ein Tag im Leben" (2009).

In 2012, she presented her graduation film "Staub auf unseren Herzen" ("Dust On Our Hearts"). The film about a complicated mother-daughter relationship featured Susanne Lothar and Stephanie Stremmler in the leading roles and won awards for Direction and Production at the 2012 Munich Film Festival, as well as the Tele 5 Audience Award and the First Steps Award for Best Feature Film.  Later in 2012, Hanna Doose was honoured with a fellowship award by the DEFA foundation. "Staub auf unseren Herzen" was released in January 2013.
