Biography

Eugénie Anselin was born in Paris in 1992 and grew up in Germany and Luxembourg. After her first small performances as a teenager, for example in the Austrian drama "Freigesprochen" ("Free to Leave", 2006), she studied acting at the Zurich University of the Arts from 2011 to 2016. During her studies, Anselin appeared in several feature films. Her multilingualism allowed her to play roles in productions in different languages. In the post-war drama "Eng nei Zäit" ("A New Time", LU 2015), shot in Lëtzebuergesch, she played the sister of the protagonist, and in the thriller "Die dunkle Seite des Mondes" ("The Dark Side of the Moon", DE/LU 2015) she was the roommate of Nora von Waldstätten's main character.

After graduating, Eugénie Anselin was part of the ensemble of Robert Schwentke's award-winning Wehrmacht drama "Der Hauptmann" ("The Captain", DE/FR/PL 2017) and played a scientist in the children's film "Invisible Sue - Plötzlich unsichtbar" (DE/LU 2018). She also appeared in individual episodes of the series "Bad Banks" (2018-2020) and "SOKO Wismar" (2021). In "Der Zürich-Krimi: Borchert und die Zeit zu sterben" (2021) she had a leading role as a murder suspect heiress. She played theater roles at the Kasemattentheater and the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg. In 2021, she appeared on stage at the Théâtre du Rond-Point in Paris in a leading role in the play "La Plus Précieuse des marchandises".

Anselin landed leading roles on the big screen as a Russian sniper in the Holocaust drama "Der verlorene Zug" ("Last Transport", NL/LU7DE 2022) and as a housekeeper in the Franco-Luxembourg social comedy "Complètement cramé" (2023) with John Malkovich and Fanny Ardant.
