Emilia Madita Maier was born on May 4, 2007, and grew up near Heidelberg. In a 2022 interview, she said: "When I was nine, I watched a lot of making-of videos, including ones for the "Bibi & Tina" movie. I found it really interesting to see how a film gets made, so I wanted to be in one myself, even if it meant simply walking through the shot." In 2019, when she happened to hear about a casting call for "Die Schule der magischen Tiere" ("School of Magical Animals",) she decided to give it a try and ended up landing the lead role of Ida. She returned to the role in the subsequent films of the successful series. She also had a major role in the six-part horror TV series "Hameln" (2024), playing the half-sister of a teenager plagued by mysterious nightmares.
In 2026, Maggie Peren cast Maier in a leading role in the novel adaptation "Die hellen Tage" ("Bright Days"), a coming-of-age story set in the mid-1960s, planned for release in 2027.
