Biography

Christian Moris Müller was born in Korbach in 1975. He studied ballet at the Munich ballet academy sponsored by the Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung  while also working as a photo artist whose works were on display at the Neue Pinakothek. Subsequently, Müller enrolled in communication and media design at the Deutsche Meisterschule für Mode in Munich. He then went on to study acting and directing for theatre at the renowned Herbert Berghoff Studio in New York and finally majored in film directing at the Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film (HFF) München. His graduation film, the profound family portrait "Vier Fenster" ("Four Windows", 2006) premiered in the section Perspektive Deutsches Kino at the Berlinale IFF 2006. The same year, the film was awarded the Franz-Hofer-Preis and, in 2007, it opened in theaters.

In cooperation with Alexander Kunja he wrote the screenplay for the road movie "Am Horizont" that was nominated for the Deutscher Drehbuchpreis in 2010 but has yet to be turned into a film. Christian Moris Müller's second full length feature "Lichtgestalten" ("Icons of Light") premiered in the competition of the Filmfestival Max-Ophüls-Preis in January 2015. The film is about a young Berlin couple who want to erase their past in order to start anew. In January 2016, "Lichtgestalten" opened in German theaters.
