Charity Collin was born in 1983 in Hamburg to Ghanaian parents. From 2008 to 2012 she studied acting at Alanus University of Art and Society near Bonn and appeared in early stage productions (including "Hedda Gabler" at Theater Bonn in 2010).
After graduating, Collin was a permanent ensemble member at the Junges Theater of the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg from 2012 to 2014. She later performed at Theater Flensburg and Pathos München, among others.
Her television debut came in 2013 with a small role as a driving instructor in the crime series "Hubert und Staller." From 2017 to 2018 she had a regular leading role as a nurse in the medical drama "Dr. Klein." Other TV appearances include episodes of "SOKO Stuttgart" (2020), "Morden im Norden" (2021–22) and "Bettys Diagnose" (2023).
On stage, Collin appeared in "Kolonialismus" (2023) at Mut! Theater Hamburg and in "Postcolonialism" (2023) at the Münchner Kammerspiele; she also performed in "Tomorrow" (2023) at Kampnagel Hamburg and "Stories from the Ghanaian Coast" (2024) at Theater im Ballsaal Bonn — for the latter three productions she co-directed with Sven Kacirek.
Her first feature‑film role was the lead in Frédéric Jaeger's UdK graduation film "All We Ever Wanted," which follows a carefree trio on holiday in the Canary Islands that unexpectedly becomes a journey of self‑discovery in the island’s desert. Shot in 2021, the film premiered in July 2024 at the Munich Film Festival in the New German Cinema section. At the achtung berlin festival in 2025 Collin — who was also in charge for the film's costumes and makeup — won the award for Best Costume Design. "All We Ever Wanted" received its theatrical release in April 2026.
