Biography

Adnan Köse grew up in Dinslaken and at first attended the drama school "Theater der Keller" in Cologne and graduated with an actor"s diploma in 1992. Afer studying German philology, American studies, and psychology in Duisburg, Köse attended several directing and screen writing seminars. Since 1997, he works as a freelance film and TV writer. Köse made his first breakthrough in 1998 when his screen play "Kleine Morde" won the screen play award of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Furthermore, his screen play for the TV movie "Mein großer Freund" (1999) was nominated for the German TV awards in 2000. Besides his movie career, Köse also worked as a writer, director, and actor for the theatre, for instance at Landestheater Burghofbühne (2000 to 2003) and Landestheater Neuss (1997/98).

Köse made his debut as a movie director in 2003 with the short film "Zur Hölle mit Dir", starring Ken Duken. For his first feature film, the drama "Lauf um Dein Leben – Vom Junkie zum Ironman" ("Run for Your Life – From Junkie to Ironman", 2008), Köse was able to win over up-and-coming star Max Riemelt for the leading role.His next film as director was the youth drama "Homies" (2011), followed by the production of his award-winning screenplay "Kleine Morde".
