Film synopsis: The children of the small town Hangelin are caught in football fever. The boys, among them the mayor′s twelve-year-old son, spend every free minute kicking a ball. Naturally, other commitments such as school homework suffer from the enthusiasm for sport. While the parents hope that the enthusiasm will soon drop to a more agreeable level, the children clear out a junkyard and turn the terrain into a playing field. Just when the professional football player Kuddel Moll passes the area the boys′ ball lands on the street and causes a small accident. After some initial anger the likeable Kuddel attends to the kids and organizes a training camp for the up-and-coming players – although not without first pledging them to honour their other, less enjoyable commitments both at school and at home.
