Film synopsis: Marion is pregnant, but she doesn't know who the father is. Three men come into question, all of whom will die sooner or later in the course of the film - just like we all do, as an announcement at the beginning of the film tells the audience. The semi-documentary film composed of narrative fragments finally leads through a variety of paths and detours to the river that gives the film its title.

"Am Ama Am Amazonas" was digitized by DFF – Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum as part of the film heritage funding program "Förderprogramm Filmerbe" (FFE) in 2019.
