Heimkehr

Karl and Richard, two comrades-in-arms, are surviving together in the wasteland of the Siberian steppes. It has been a long time since they have seen another human being. As they get to know each other, they talk about their lives.

Richard, in particular, is always talking about his beloved wife Anna, until it seems that Karl also knows the unknown woman intimately. When the men can no longer stand their loneliness, they set out on the arduous journey home.
Meanwhile, Anna also waits at home for her Richard. One day, she meets Karl, her husband's friend, whom she does not know, but who knows her from Richard's many stories. As time goes by, the two become closer and closer, and Anna begins to lose hope that her husband will return. But then the day comes when Richard is standing in the doorway and has to watch as Anna and Karl share a loving kiss. A world collapses ...
