Summary
A young woman who is mistaken for a young man grew up in Alaska as a foundling and is called "Kotzebue". In order to research her origins, she visits Kotzebue, an Innuit trading post discovered by descendants of the German comedy writer of the same name. There she meets the librarian Roswitha, who has fled from her painful German-German past to Alaska. Between snow and ice, the two are getting closer and travel together to Berlin, where Kotzebue declares her love to Roswitha.
