Summary

An interview session that keeps going off track. In "MegatrashwannabebigstarXD", a person asks questions, but the answers come from a language model trained on five years of private chats. It sounds intimate and strange at the same time: as if your own self is talking back to you in the language of the Internet. Two synthetic voices adopt persona, defence and attack; in between, text-to-image and image-to-video fragments flicker in the style of non-linear short-form aesthetics. Expectations, sexism and stereotypes are embedded in the data and in the performance; everything is both pose and risk. The film asks what becomes of the “self” when it is reconstructed from chats: appropriation of your own material or normative projection? And who claims authorship when the machine always gets to have a say?
