Summary

Large-scale attempt to recast the history of the German people, according to the "Blood and Soil" (Blut und Boden) Nazi ideology, as the history of the German forest. Produced according to an assignment of the NS-Kulturgemeinde; premiered at the "Day of Folklore".

In a mixture of archival/documentary footage and contrived scenes, the film renders its version of history from the Bronze Age to the present. In the end, following Germany′s defeat by its enemies in the World War, the German forest is clear-cut, a swastika emerging in its place.
