The Frog and the Water

Young Stefan 'Buschi' Busch lives in a supported group home, where his days are carefully structured and largely uneventful. During an organized outing, however, he makes a spontaneous decision that changes everything: he joins a Japanese tour group and leaves his old life behind. On the journey, a tentative friendship develops between Buschi and the Japanese traveler Hideo Kitamura. In this unfamiliar setting, far removed from routine and supervision, Buschi - who has long avoided verbal communication - begins to discover new ways of expressing himself and connecting with others. As the trip unfolds across Japan, he slowly opens up to closeness and shared experience, finding a sense of belonging he had never known before.
