Das Casanova-Projekt

Summary

Feature film by the satirical group 'Arnold Hau': Director Hartmann wants to shoot his first film and adapt the memoirs of Casanova. He casts Mr. Edel in the leading role, but soon has to realize that Edel's dazzling personality and stubbornness torpedo his film. The two lose themselves in endless discussions about general film issues and in particular about the role of Hartmann's mother. In the end, Hartmann realizes that he has a complex and only wanted to shoot the film because of his mother in the first place. Director Hartmann tells the whole story in retrospect, while he stands on the Eisernen Steg in Frankfurt and looks over the Main River.
