Deutschland 1926 Spielfilm

Summary

Lydia Boysen is unhappily married. After her husband Axel tries to set her up with the Turkish general Sabi Bey, she retreats enervated to a Swiss winter health resort. There she falls in love with the ski instructor and student Dagfin. Lydia's husband Axel shows up in the company of Sabi Bey and is murdered shortly afterwards. Dagfin believes Lydia is the murderer and decides to sacrifice himself for her. Lydia, on the other hand, believes Dagfin to be the murderer and hopes to save him with the Turkish general's money if she does get involved in the relationship. The finale takes place at Sabi Bey's castle in southern Germany, where he is caught up with his past. Assairan, a young Armenian, wants to take revenge on the Turkish general for his involvement in the Armenian genocide. Sabi Bey chooses suicide and confesses on his deathbed that he was responsible for Axel's murder.
