Summary
Documentary film about Merce Cunningham and his groundbreaking choreographies that fundamentally influenced modern dance. Cunningham, one of the pioneers of the American avant-garde movement after the Second World War, collaborated with numerous renowned artists of all disciplines until his death in 2009, including John Cage, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and the British band Radiohead. The film traces Cunningham's extensive career and features previously unpublished archive recordings of interviews and rehearsals, as well as new performances of his works.
