Summary

When her father is seriously injured in a violent incident, 16-year-old Carola unexpectedly finds herself thrust into a position of leadership. He runs a small copper mine in Chile's Atacama Desert, and to keep the family business afloat, Carola conceals the true circumstances of the attack and takes charge of the mining operation herself.
