Biography

Rudolf Noelte was in 1921 born in Berlin and studied German Studies, Philosophy, Theater Studies and History of Art in his home town. He appeared as an actor on stage at the Hebbel Theater in Berlin and worked as a director for numerous theaters in Germany. Noelte directed several television films such as "Irrungen, Wirrungen" (1966), "Der Zerbrochene Krug" (1967), "Der Kirschgarten" (1970) and "Die Ratten" (1979). His feature films include "The Castle" ("Das Schloss", 1968) and "Dantons Tod" (1981).
