Vollkontakt - Ein Lebens-Weg

Deutschland 2009-2012 Dokumentarfilm

Summary

Full Contact - A Way Of Living

Ordinary, friendly and civilized people meet in a Berlin backyard to hit each other, to throw themselves to the ground, to contort their limbs, to punch, to choke and to kick the others in the ribs. Why do they do that?

This documentary follows four protagonists in their private lives, their jobs, their studies – and their martial arts. Attila, a half- Turkish half-German high-school-student. Alex, an ex-gender studies student who has decided to become a professional fighter and trainer. Luise, a student of German literature who works in an ice-cream-shop. And Oliver, a surgeon whose daily job is to fit artificial joints into his patient’s hips. It’s a journey into the souls of four sensitive, well-educated, middle-class people who do one of the most controversial and hardest sports on this planet: Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
