Und wer nimmt den Hund?

Deutschland 2018/2019 Spielfilm

Summary

Lost in Separation

Doris and Georg are what is commonly referred to as a model couple and have been married for over twenty years. But now that the two children have left the house, they have less and less to say to each other. When Georg begins an affair with a young doctoral student, Laura, the end of their marriage seems inevitable. But instead of the great discord and a divorce battle, the two begin a separation therapy in which they analyze past behaviour together. Unlike herself and Georg had anticipated, Doris also begins to enjoy her new freedom from family constraints and expectations. Finally, there's time for her to follow her professional and private dreams. While Doris blossoms, Georg's and Laura's relationship seems to deteriorate and what's worse, he finds that he does not really like how well Doris manages in her new life without him...
