Near the end of WWII: U-900, the last remaining submarine of the German Navy, is ordered to sail from Toulon to Warnemünde on a secret mission. Atze Schröder, a black market dealer on the run from the Nazis, comes aboard along with his friend Samuel and the actress Maria, who diguises herself as a man. Atze assumes the identity of Captain Rönberg and immediately causes chaos on deck. Soon the crew suspects that something is wrong with their strange new skipper.
