Jungfer, Sie gefällt mir

DDR 1968 Spielfilm

Summary

Saxony in 1792: The beautiful damsel Ev, the heartthrob of all men, lives in a small village. Judge Adam has cast an eye on her, that is why he cannot stand the blacksmith Ruprecht, who also wants to marry Ev. One night, when Adam sneaks around Ev′s parents′ house to climb through her window, he is caught off guard by Ruprecht who throws a jug at the brazen voyeur, but can escape unrecognized. But now Ev′s mother sues poor Ruprecht for the broken jug – and of course the case is presented to Judge Adam. Although the truth about the nightly event is finally revealed, counsel of Justice Walter from Dresden arrests blacksmith Ruprecht for assault to save the reputation of justice. Actually, Walter is also in love with Ev and wants to eliminate his rivals in love. Eventually, he is also hit by a jug, while Adam is arrested for an earlier theft. Now, there is nothing left in the way of Ruprecht′s and Ev′s love.
