Synopsis
Hannes, the dashing director of a dance band, falls in love with charming Marita, the conductor of a women’s orchestra. Both want to participate with their bands in the competition for the "Golden Saxophone" in Berlin but do not know that they are rivals in the competition. When Marita learns about their rivalry, she initially believes that Hannes had only courted her to prevent her from winning the competition. Meanwhile, Marita’s manager uses several measures of foul play to help her gain the victory. He instructs some crooks to steal the car that carries Hannes’ musical instruments but the crooks steal the car of the women’s orchestra, instead. Hannes saves the situation, wins back Marita’s heart, and in the end both are awarded the first prize, the coveted "golden saxophone".
