The Border Guard
Hermann Hoffstedt worked for 30 years as a border guard of the GDR. Then, from one day to the next, the border ceased to exist. Hermann was made redundant. His wife died shortly afterwards of a heart attack. Hermann lives on in the old world.
Day by day, he drives out to the deserted border crossing point and carries out his work ...
