Portrait of an Unknown Woman

A Parisian painter catches sight of a beautiful woman in the theatre, paints her face and uses it for a nude portrait. After selling the portrait, it causes a stir at an exhibition because the face on the portrait belongs to the wife of the ambassador. To avoid standing in the way of her husband′s career, she tells him, that she has actually sat model for the painter. Thus, she leaves the ambassador and returns to her old job as a bar singer. When the painter tells the true story to the ambassador, he wants to get back his wife. But in the meantime, his wife has fallen in love with the charming painter who is now able to paint a true nude portrait of her.
