Film adaptation of the folk tale "The Hare and the Hedgehog": A slow but shrewd hedgehog challenges an equally nimble and snooty hare to a race in a field. In reality, however, the hedgehog only runs a few steps because his wife, who looks just like him, is already waiting at the end of the field. When the hare arrives there, the hedgehog's wife calls out to him, "I'm already here!". The rabbit cannot understand his defeat - and demands revenge. But no matter how many times he tries, the hedgehog is always "already here"...

The film marked the screen debut of the Diehl brothers' hedgehog character, who later became famous as Mecki.
