Michelangelo. Das Leben eines Titanen

Documentary about the life of Michelangelo, told through shots of the Italian countryside, old engravings and especially through his works. The starting point of the film is a sonnet by Vittoria Colonna, who set a lyrical monument to her contemporary and friend Michelangelo, which Curt Oertel translated into film. The film received worldwide attention, especially because the adaptation of the topic was considered a new form of cinematic historiography.
